Founding Partners

Leaders in Georgia's legal community came together to create an innovate solution to address issues new solo attorneys face when launching a socially conscious law firm.  L4EJ is unique in that it is the only legal incubator in the United States that involves collaboration among an important group of stakeholders- all the law schools located in the state – Emory University School of Law, Georgia State University College of Law, Mercer University Walter F. Georgia School of Law, Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, University of Georgia School of Law, the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court, and Georgia’s legal aid providers.

Supporting Partners

L4EJ provides many resources to our participants. These resources would not be available without the generous support of our supporting partners.

The Georgia Bar Foundation has been a generous supporter of L4EJ, providing both IOLTA and Fellow Grants to fund L4EJ's mission to expand access to justice outside the Atlanta-metro area.

The Georgia Bar Foundation was created for charitable, religious, and educational purposes in 1967. It is a 501(c)(3) organization named by the Supreme Court of Georgia in 1983 to receive IOLTA funds to support legal services for the poor, to improve the administration of justice, to promote professionalism in law practice in order best to serve the public, to aid children involved in the justice system, and to advance the legal system through historical study. The Foundation has a 19-member Board of Trustees, 16 of whom are appointed directly by the Supreme Court of Georgia and three of whom are members by virtue of being officers of the State Bar of Georgia.

A key goal of L4EJ is to show lawyers how to provide cost-effective legal services to clients with low-to-moderate incomes. And a big part of reaching that goal comes from giving participating attorneys training and tools to implement cutting edge practice management disciplines that allow them to work in the most efficient way possible.

We selected CosmoLex as our exclusive practice management system. CosmoLex is a Cloud-based tools that lets lawyers work from anywhere, on any device, at any time -- effectively eliminating “dead minutes” during the workday. Leveraging the power of cloud computing, CosmoLex gives attorneys one tool that handles practice management, billing, accounting, document management, and more. Every L4EJ member gets no-cost access to CosmoLex during the program, along with specialized training and assistance to help them discover new ways of working made possible by innovative legal technology that is changing the face of 21st century lawyering.
